The Second Chance is a film that tells the story of two very different men together they learned an important lesson about the true function of the church. Ethan Jenkins (Michael W. Smith) is a man in his thirties. After wearing traveling as a musician, decided to return and work with his father. His father is Jeremiah Jenkins, a pastor known and respected as the main leader of "the Rock Chuch" a super church that has the services broadcast on television, but it actually looks like a producer.

Ethan is devoted to deputy minister of "the Rock Chuck," and moved to the ministry as a business, not as a call to bless the lives of the community. Given the situation, Jeremiah decides his son needs to learn a little more about what is the work of a church and sends it to help, "Second Chance Community Church," church he helped establish 60 years. In this new experience Ethan knows Jake (Jeff Obafemi Carr) who pastors the "Second Chance Community Church, which strives to maintain the unity of the church and the peace of a community that looks like a war zone and suffers from violence, trafficking drug and gang outrage. But the same two pastors and professing the same faith with the same goal will clash, they both have different ways of working. But for the church to be restored and the community are saved, they will have to learn the true meaning of church and win your own temperaments and concepts to fulfill God's purpose.

The Second Chance scored his first film role for most winning gospel singer in the world, Michael W. Smith.
